PHOENIX – A family of four and their dogs are safe after a fire broke out in their Glendale home early Friday, first responders said.
The Glendale Fire Department said the blaze was underway when crews arrived at the house near 67th and Missouri avenues around 2 a.m.
Heavy smoke and fire were coming from the attic.
Firefighters cleared the home before exiting because of a “large amount of fire above them,” department spokesman Steve Orsini said in a press release.
More firefighters were called in and crews managed to control the blaze from outside. Eventually, they were able to go back inside to finish putting out the flames.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No other details were made available.
