PHOENIX — A suspect in a fatal Chandler road rage shooting last week was arrested, authorities said.
Domingo Luz, 37, was arrested and booked into jail on first-degree murder and other charges, the Chandler Police Department said in a press release.
Officers said Luz and Carlos Doiron, a man in his 20s, were allegedly in a verbal argument around 4 p.m. on Dec. 5 near Arizona Avenue and Chandler Boulevard after Doiron tailgated Luz.
The pair split ways, with Luz allegedly driving back to his apartment to retrieve his rifle and Doiron dropping off a birthday gift to his daughter.
Ten minutes later, surveillance video caught Luz returning to the area where the argument took place, police said.
Luz allegedly pulled up to park behind Doiron’s car, which was reversing out of the driveway, and fired multiple rounds into his vehicle, striking him in the head and killing him.
He fled the scene of the shooting but was pulled over Wednesday after his vehicle matched the description of the one from the shooting.
Police said Luz’s son and girlfriend were in the vehicle at the time of the argument, the shooting and when he was taken into custody.
