PHOENIX — A couple of Arizona cities made appearances alongside the most sinful places in the country with Phoenix coming in at No. 10 overall.

WalletHub, a personal finance website, took 180 US cities into account and judged their “sinfulness” on an array of categories that measured vices and illicit behavior.

Phoenix was weighted negatively in the categories associated with lust and vanity, ranking No. 12 and No. 3 in those categories, respectively.

Researchers found that Phoenix and Scottsdale were tied with Las Vegas for the most tanning salons per capita in the country, negatively impacting the vanity scores for each city.

Scottsdale’s overall sinfulness was balanced out due to having the fifth least amount of adults who don’t exercise on a regular basis. This strengthened its laziness rating and overall sinfulness score significantly.

Tucson was ranked as the second most sinful city in the state at No. 66 with Tempe (71) and Scottsdale (76) coming in closely behind.

On a positive note, Glendale (No. 94) was the only other city in the state in the top 100 while Peoria came in ranked toward the bottom of the list at No. 152.

Gilbert was ranked with the fifth fewest violent crimes per capita.

Naturally, Las Vegas ranked No. 1 overall, maintaining its earned mantra as “Sin City.”

The least sinful city in the country was Port St. Lucie in Florida.
