PHOENIX — A surf lagoon and multi-use development project in Mesa recently announced it has added an indoor action sports center as a tenant for the location that is expected to open next year.
Cannon Beach, a 37-acre entertainment district that includes a surf lagoon, on-site hotel, gym, shops and restaurants, will house the Valley’s seventh KTR location.
KTR offers thrill-infused activities for children of all ages with skateboarding, scooters, a parkour/ninja warrior course, trampoline, BMX and other aerialist attractions, according to a press release.
“Cannon Beach and KTR is a match made in heaven for families looking for a healthy alternative to getting kids off their digital devices while having the freedom to play,” Cole Cannon, founder of the Cannon Beach project, said in the release.
“There isn’t a better anchor to complement the surf and lifestyle amenities of the development. Whether you need your family to burn some energy on one of the attractions or to put your feet in the sand and watch surfers ride the waves, this is the place to be.”
KTR’s new 30,000-square-foot location at Cannon Beach, at the cross streets of Power and Warner roads, will become the company’s franchise headquarters.
“We are thrilled to join Cannon Beach and be another opportunity for fun and adventure,” Ron Sciarro, co-founder of the KTR franchise, said in the release. “Cole’s team and ours share the value of using our resources to better the community and we look forward to hosting a variety of groups.
“We’re especially excited to invite non-profit entities and church groups to our facility at no cost throughout the operating season in hopes of giving a little something back to the communities we love and serve.”
The attraction will be located on the mezzanine level of Cannon Beach and overlook the lagoon, according to the release.
Cannon Beach broke ground in June 2021.
