PHOENIX — A holiday favorite in the Valley returns for another year as the Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade takes place at Tempe Town Lake on Saturday night.

The parade sets sail at 6 p.m. as boats decked out with holiday lights and other decorations float across the lake at 80 W. Rio Salado Parkway. A fireworks show follows the parade at 8 p.m.

People can arrive early at 4 p.m. to not only scope out the best spot to view the parade but also grab a bite to eat or some hot chocolate from dozens of food vendors that will be in attendance, according to a press release.

There will also be live music, local artisans selling unique handmade items and the opportunity to get a selfie with Santa.

The free, family-friendly event concludes at 9 p.m.

The Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade is part of Downtown Tempe’s “Oh, What Fun” holiday event series, which continues the following day with the 2nd Sundays on Mill Holiday Market.

The outdoor market on Mill Avenue takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features arts, crafts and food, along with other attractions like free yoga, mini golf, roller skating and interactive art experiences.

More information about the Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade or 2nd Sundays on Mill can be found online.
