PHOENIX – Avondale will kick off a month of holiday festivities Saturday night with WinterFest.

The free event, with food available for purchase, runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Avondale Civic Center outdoor amphitheater.

WinterFest will feature photo opportunities with Santa and Mrs. Claus, rides, a tree lighting ceremony and other family-friendly activities and entertainment.

It will also be the opening of the West Valley suburb’s nightly light display synchronized to holiday music.

The tree lighting and light show premiere is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

After WinterFest, the free light show will run at the amphitheater from 5:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. every night through Jan. 1.

On Dec. 17, Avondale Civic Center will host Deck the Halls, a community event at the City Hall lobby.

Deck the Halls will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with food trucks, pictures with the Grinch, Christmas karaoke and other holiday activities.

We want to hear from you.
