Silver Alert for 98-year-old man who went missing in Phoenix canceled

PHOENIX — A Silver Alert for a missing 98-year-old Phoenix man was canceled Sunday afternoon after he was located in good health.

The bulletin for Major Perkins was issued just before midnight Saturday. Around 4 p.m. Sunday, the Phoenix Police Department reported that he’d been found safe.

Perkins had last been seen near 91st Avenue and Van Buren Street when he was reported missing.

He stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes and was wearing an unknown pullover sweater and olive green slacks.

Perkins has a medical condition that causes him to become confused and easily lost.

Anyone with information as to Perkins’ whereabouts was asked to call Phoenix police at 602-534-2121 or after hours at 602-262-6151.
