PHOENIX — The truth is going to hurt so good for Valley fans of Lizzo: The singer/rapper is making a tour stop in Phoenix in 2023.
Lizzo is coming to Footprint Center on May 24 as part of the second North American leg of the Special tour.
Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
It’ll be a rare occasion for fans to see the three-time Grammy Award winner in the Valley.
Lizzo has only performed once previously in town, at The Van Buren in downtown Phoenix in October 2019, according to setlist.fm.
The Detroit native burst onto the scene in 2019 with her debut album “Cuz I Love You,” which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top 100.
The Grammy triumphs came in 2020, when Lizzo won best pop solo performance for her hit single, “Truth Hurts.”
Lizzo also won Grammys that year for best traditional R&B performance for song “Jerome” and best urban contemporary album for “Cuz I Love You.”
