PHOENIX — Drivers in the north Valley will have to contend with closures on Interstate 17 and the Loop 303 this weekend, according to state transportation officials.

Southbound I-17 will be closed from Loop 101 to Greenway Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project.

The Loop 101 ramps to southbound I-17, and southbound I-17 on-ramps at Pinnacle Peak Road, Deer Valley Road and Rose Garden Lane will also be closed.

Also, westbound Loop 303 will be closed from I-17 to Lake Pleasant Parkway from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for construction.

The I-17 off-ramps at Loop 303 will be restricted with access limited to Sonoran Desert Drive.

In another North Valley restriction, westbound Thunderbird Road will be closed at times from the northbound I-17 frontage road and around the Metro North Corporate Park from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a regional drainage project.

Finally, Interstate 10 will be narrowed to one lane between Chandler Boulevard and Riggs Road from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday — and 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday — for pavement sealing.

The ramps connecting I-10 and Loop 202 will be closed at times Saturday. The I-10 ramps between Chandler Boulevard and Riggs Road will also have Saturday closures.

Interest rates may have peaked. Should you buy a CD, high-yield savings account, or a fixed annuity?

Interest rates are the highest they’ve been in decades, and it looks like the Fed has paused hikes. This may be the best time to lock in rates for long-term, low-risk financial products like fixed annuities.
