PHOENIX — Frontier Airlines added nonstop service between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and six cities over the weekend.

The discount carrier announced Saturday it launched daily flights to Philadelphia, Fort Lauderdale, Detroit and Orange County.

Frontier is offering introductory fares starting at $29 for Orange County, $49 for Fort Lauderdale and Philadelphia and $69 for Detroit.

New routes were also launched to Portland, with service soon to be available three times a week, and to Cincinnati, with flights available four times a week. Both flights have a $69 introductory fare.

Fares must be bought by 9:59 p.m. on Nov. 10 with a seven-day advance purchase required.

Flights to Portland will be offered less frequently until Feb. 19 when it picks up to a routine three days a week.

On Friday, Frontier celebrated the opening of its new Phoenix crew base.

The airline plans to employ up to 180 pilots and 275 flight attendants at Sky Harbor within the first year of operations.

“Opening this new crew base is a clear indication of our commitment to continued growth in Phoenix,” Jake Filene, Frontier senior vice president of customers, said in a press release.

“A thriving and expanding airport is vital to the city’s economic advancement, and we are thrilled to be part of that trajectory both as a service provider and major wage contributor.”
