PHOENIX – Democrats Adrian Fontes and Kris Mayes have climbed past their Republican opponents in a poll of likely Arizona voters with just days to go before the election.

The OH Predictive Insights final survey of the 2022 election season, which was released Monday, showed Fontes ahead of Mark Finchem 48%-42% in the secretary of state race and Mayes ahead of Abraham Hamadeh 45%-42% in the chase for attorney general.

The poll was conducted Oct. 24-26 and has a margin of error of 4%.

“The down-ballot races appear to be breaking for the Democrats,” Mike Noble, chief researcher for the Phoenix firm, said.

“Independents, who previously drove the undecided margin, are now breaking for Fontes.”

More than 10% of voters were still undecided in both races.

In an OH Predictive Insights poll conducted earlier this month, Finchem led Fontes by 3 percentage points and Hamadeh was in front of Mayes by 3 percentage points.

The undecided segments were significantly larger then, at 17% for secretary of state and 25% for attorney general.

The Arizona secretary of state contest has drawn national attention because of Finchem’s belief that President Joe Biden did not win in Arizona in 2020.

Early voting in Arizona for the Nov. 8 general election began Oct. 12.
