PHOENIX — A grand opening celebration was hosted Friday for new mixed-income apartments in Phoenix, officials said.
Soluna Apartments located on Roosevelt Street, east of Interstate 10, is a modern community consisting of 177 energy-efficient units with one to five bedrooms, the city of Phoenix said in a press release.
The housing development is the first phase of rental housing units built as part of the $30 million Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grant funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to modernize the Edison-Eastlake Community.
The mixed-income apartments were fully leased by April 2022.
In addition to views of Edison Park, amenities include a computer lab, fitness center, green space and an art plaza.
A handful of Phoenix representatives were at the ribbon-cutting event, including Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego and councilmember Carlos Garcia from District 8.
The event was hosted with Gorman and Company, which works to modernize communities through innovative partnerships.
