PHOENIX — A Phoenix man was sentenced to over 15 years in prison for child exploitation offenses, authorities said Thursday.

Robert Allen Yost, 61, previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to sex traffic children, production of child pornography and conspiracy to transport illegal aliens for profit.

Border Patrol agents arrested Yost in March 2020 after they found him smuggling migrants on a highway in southern Arizona, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.

A search of Yost’s phone revealed child exploitation content.

Yost, during a guilty plea in January, admitted he had exchanged pictures and videos of child sexual abuse with others online and through text messages.

He also said he asked someone to send sexually explicit images of a child and offered methamphetamine in exchange for sexual access to the child, which never happened.

Border Patrol and Homeland Security investigated the case.
