PHOENIX — Scottsdale Fashion Square and retail developer Macerich announced plans to renovate part of the south wing for a more luxury experience.

The plans include an extensive interior and exterior renovation. These will include upscale new finishes, new natural stone flooring, custom light fixtures and recessed LED lighting, elegant furnishings and better sightlines to highlight individual retailers, according to a press release.

The plans also include two-story storefronts, exterior-facing retail buildings at the south entrance and a porte cochere for five destination restaurants.

The shopping center will remain open during the remodeling that will finish in late 2024.

“Macerich is dedicated to consistently reinvesting in and elevating our top regional town centers, and Scottsdale Fashion Square is among the most productive in our portfolio,” Chief Executive Officer of Macerich Tom O’Hern said.

“Scottsdale Fashion Square is already the region’s undisputed luxury leader, and the tremendous success of our luxury wing demonstrates the strong appetite among retailers and shoppers for even more high-end experiences throughout this top-performing property.”

O’Hern mentioned that renovations are to be on par with Scottsdale’s changing demographic and growth in the market and wants to bring a “striking arrival point” at the entrance.

The south wing was added in 2018 and saw brands such as Louis Vuitton, St. John, Jimmy Choo, Bottega Veneta and others recommit to the expansion and renovation in their stores.

We want to hear from you.
