PHOENIX – Police in Chandler said Thursday they arrested a man suspected of public indecency and felony stalking.

Bryant James Walker, 26, was taken into custody Wednesday and booked into Maricopa County Jail, the Chandler Police Department said.

Walker, from Mesa, is accused of one count of stalking and fear of death, and three counts of public sexual indecency against the same woman on multiple occasions.

After seeing reports of the case that included Walker’s photo, a supervisor at Carvana called police Wednesday to tell them that he and two employees believed the suspect was Walker, another employee.

According to police documents, a woman in the area of Loop 202 Santan Freeway and Cooper Road opened her front door around noon on June 1 after receiving motion-detected alerts. She found the suspect manually gratifying himself.

She told him to leave and told him she was calling police. She checked again and he hadn’t left so she opened the door and sprayed him with a cleaning solvent. He left.

The suspect allegedly returned June 28 shortly before 10 a.m. The woman saw him through the doorbell camera as he walked past.

When she didn’t see him through the door’s peephole, she went outside to check and saw him playing with himself, police said.

Police said he returned to her apartment July 11, Aug. 25, Sept. 26 and Oct. 2. During one of those times, the suspect left behind bodily fluid that authorities obtained via search warrant.

After finding out where Walker lived, investigators went to the apartment with a search warrant and left with clothing that was consistent with what a man in the doorbell footage was wearing.

Police said Walker later told them that he never intended to do anything to the woman, that he founder her attractive but recognized now that his actions may have been upsetting to the woman.

We want to hear from you.
