PHOENIX  — A Tempe police boat was used to safely pull a man out of Tempe Town Lake Tuesday morning.

Police and Fire Medical Rescue responded to an indecent exposure call for service, authorities said.

Upon arrival, officers found a man standing in the water at Tempe Town Lake.

Efforts to talk him out did not lead to a response, authorities said.

A department-issued water rescue throw bag was tossed in reach of the man several times, but he allegedly refused to grab it and return to shore.

He was pulled into the police boat without incident and turned over to TFMR. He was transported to a hospital for evaluation.

No additional information was available.
