PHOENIX — A new sports bar and nightlife venue called Six40rty is set to open on Mill Avenue in Tempe next week.
Six40rty launches at Sixth Street and Mill Avenue on Sept. 28.
The location has 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space with more than 70 televisions for sports viewing. The outdoor area will don a grass turf, murals, multiple bars and lawn games like corn hole, table tennis and Jenga.
Six40rty’s menu will offer loaded “totchos,” slider stacks and vibrant bowls among other elevated bar snacks. Drinks include 30 beers on draft and Ranch Water.
The venue is set to transform into a nightlife experience with DJs and bottle service after dark.
The neighboring establishments are concepts of Ascend Hospitality Group, a Black and female-led restaurant group based in Washington, according to a press release.
“With Six40rty, we wanted to create the premier place on Mill for people to come hang out, watch the Sun Devils, Cardinals, and all their favorite teams, and get together to have fun, play games, eat, and drink in a one-of-kind setting,” Thomas Lawson, managing partner for the venue and next-door neighbor Anoche Cantina, said in the release.
“As someone who went to ASU and was a part of some very popular concepts in Tempe, I know firsthand what an incredible culture and history there is here. We are looking forward to bringing back that level of anticipation and helping shape this exciting next chapter.”
