PHOENIX – The victims in a small plane in northern Arizona last week have been identified as a married couple from Texas, authorities said Monday.

Chad and Brandi Wilson, both 42, were heading from their hometown of Wichita Falls to Las Vegas when their plane went down Tuesday, the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

The couple owned and operated a contracting company. They’d been married since 2003 and raised four children, according to their obituary on Dignity Memorial.

The single-engine Piper PA-46, which was registered to Chad Wilson, took off Tuesday morning and went off radar north of Seligman, between Kingman and Flagstaff, just before noon.

An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter out of Kingman located the wreckage in a remote area around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The victims’ identities were confirmed after their bodies were transported to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office, the sheriff’s office said.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
