PHOENIX – Fire injured and trapped a man in his mobile home before he was rescued Sunday night in Phoenix, first responders said.

The Phoenix Fire Department said the 60-year-old homeowner was taken to a burn center for treatment after he was pulled from the home near Cave Creek Road and Peoria Avenue.

The unidentified man called emergency services around 9 p.m. to report the fire and said he was in a back bedroom that had a small window and he couldn’t get out, the fire department said.

Firefighters arrived to find flames and smoke coming from the home. Two Phoenix police officers helped get the man out of the burning structure through the window.

Crews kept the fire from spreading to other homes.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
