Shooting in north Phoenix leaves 1 man dead, 1 woman injured

PHOENIX — One man was pronounced dead and a woman was injured in a gunfire exchange outside of a strip mall near in Phoenix on Saturday.
The man was identified as 18-year-old Miguel Rosas who was shot multiple times in what Phoenix police referred to as a targeted attack.
According to a release, the woman was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and was not an intended target of the attack.
Witnesses told police that multiple individuals exchanged gunfire in the area near Deer Valley Plaza at the intersection of 19th Avenue and Bell Road around 4:15 p.m.
Air units were deployed to the area and led to the detainment of three individuals in the area who were later released.
Police are still investigating the events and have not released description information about the suspects, according to the release.
An investigation remains ongoing.
