PHOENIX — A 19-year-old male died via gunshot in his ex-girlfriend’s house in west Phoenix Wednesday morning.

Police responded to the area of 113th Street and Indian School Road around 6:45 a.m. after receiving an unknown trouble call.

A man and a woman directed the officers inside to Kimoni Wilson, who suffered a gunshot wound, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Police provided aid until the fire department arrived, but Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Detectives responded and learned Wilson forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s home and allegedly got into a physical altercation with another man.

Wilson allegedly hit the man with a firearm he found inside. The other man allegedly got ahold of the firearm and shot Wilson.

The man was taken to a hospital to treat his injuries sustained in the fight. He was released, as charges will be submitted for review at the end of the investigation.

The investigation remains ongoing as detectives review the evidence.
