PHOENIX — Arizona, thank you for setting a new record during our annual Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s.

Arizonans came through in a big way for the 14th iteration of the fundraiser with $2,038,532 raised throughout the week through efforts with KTAR News 92.3 FM and 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.

Since 2009, the event has raised more than $20 million.

The Give-A-Thon for Phoenix Children’s also maintained its position as the top children’s hospital radio fundraiser in the country.

“We cannot thank KTAR, Arizona’s Sports Station and the local community enough for their support,” Steve Schnall, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation’s senior vice president and chief development officer, said.

“The KTAR Give-A-Thon is an important reminder that when we put out the call, the community will step up and make sure kids get the top-notch health care they need.”

Give-A-Thon was presented by Valley Hyundai Dealers and Ak-Chin Indian Community. Sponsors of the weeklong event included Desert Financial Credit Union, Mattamy Homes, Trane Heating and Cooling, Ace Hardware, Red Bird Farms, Spinato’s Pizzeria, the UPS Store and Carl’s Jr.

“To set a new record during these turbulent economic times showcases what amazing results can come from local, powerful, multiplatform storytelling by the most talented content team in the country combined with a generous community dedicated to caring for the future of our children,” Ryan Hatch, senior vice president and market manager of Bonneville Phoenix, said.

“We’re so grateful to our listeners and viewers, sponsors, team partners, and of course the hundreds of volunteers for their wonderful support of the Give-A-Thon.”

All of the proceeds generated directly benefit Phoenix Children’s Hope Fund, which funds essential equipment, operations, charitable care, Child Life resources, virtual care and research.

Phoenix Children’s is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the nation with 433 beds.

We want to hear from you.
