PHOENIX — A Phoenix man last week was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the sexual abuse of a child.
Avery Ulate, 39, admitted to authorities in 2019 that he knowingly engaged in sexual contact with a child under the age of 12, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.
Ulate also said he sexually abused the child, a member of Navajo Nation, for years, according to the release.
He pleaded guilty to one count of abusive sexual contact with a child.
Ulate will face lifetime supervised release after his sentence ends.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Navajo Nation Department of Criminal Investigations conducted the investigation.
