PHOENIX – The wait is over in Chandler for the debut of barbecue restaurant Pork on a Fork.
After delays of over a year, the restaurant unlocked doors last Thursday at Alma School and Warner roads but has planned an official grand opening celebration for Sept. 7 that includes giveaways and discounts.
Pork on a Fork, along with its original location on Deer Valley Road at 15th Avenue in north Phoenix, serves up slow-smoked hand-pulled pork or brisket by the pound, smoked sausage, BBQ burritos, sandwiches and bowls.
The first 50 guests at the party will receive a goodie bag. Subsequent diners can earn prizes that includes discounts on sandwiches, burritos and bowls.
The opening had originally been scheduled to start business in May 2021.
“We’re really excited to continue the expansion of our brand and move into the East Valley,” Justin Erickson, co-owner of Pork on a Fork, said at that time.
“This is an entirely new market for us and a big opportunity for us to grow. We can’t wait to welcome this new demographic of barbecue lovers.”
Erickson and Wes Hansen opened their first restaurant in 2010.
Pork on a Fork Chandler is open Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
