PHOENIX — The State Route 51 exit ramps at Glendale Avenue in Phoenix closed on Wednesday and will continue to be unavailable during midday hours into next week.
The exit ramps will be closed through Friday during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and again Monday through Wednesday of next week during the same hours.
The closures are due to the city’s pavement preservation work along Glendale Avenue, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.
Access to State Route 51 on-ramps at Glendale Avenue is expected to be maintained, while ADOT said drivers should expect restrictions on the roadway near the freeway interchange.
Drivers who usually use the ramps should plan on other routes, such as exits at Indian School Road, Highland Avenue, Colter Street, Bethany Home Road and Northern Avenue to get around the closures.
The closure schedule is subject to change due to factors such as weather, ADOT said.
