PHOENIX — Gubernatorial candidate Karrin Taylor Robson said she will reimburse Arizona for using the state plane to travel to the Valley from a campaign event last week as her top opponent filed a complaint over the action.

Taylor Robson used the plane last Friday to travel with Gov. Doug Ducey from Tucson to Phoenix. The Republican businesswoman let former Vice President Mike Pence use her private jet to fly to Reno after he campaigned for her, according to the Arizona Mirror.

“It’s a nonissue. It’s just a distraction,” Taylor Robson, said Thursday on KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show. “[Lake] doesn’t want people focused on her record. Of course, we will reimburse the state.

“It is standard practice and we pay every bill that we get and we will reimburse the state. That’s how this works.”

Kari Lake, Taylor Robson’s top primary opponent, filed the complaint with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office over usage of the plane. The AG’s office said Thursday they are reviewing it.

“Karrin Robson needs to pay the money back,” Lake, who also appeared Thursday on The Mike Broomhead Show, said.

“She’s flying around on our Arizona state plane to do a bunch of campaign stops and the people won’t have that kind of behavior anymore.”

Ducey and Pence were with Taylor Robson at events in the Valley and southern Arizona less than two weeks before the primary election.

The onetime allies of Donald Trump have stumped for Taylor Robson over Lake, who appeared with Trump at a rally in Prescott Valley.

“[Lake] doesn’t want people focused on her, so this is a lot of noise,” Taylor Robson said.
