3-year-old girl dies after drowning in Surprise pool
PHOENIX — A three-year-old girl died Tuesday after drowning in a pool of a family’s home in Surprise, authorities said.
The incident happened near 158th Drive and Monte Cristo Avenue around 1:50 p.m. when officers received a call about a unresponsive child found in the pool, the Surprise Police Department said in a press release.
Fire personnel arrived and took the child to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The police department is investigating the cause of the drowning.
