PHOENIX — Arizona Federal Theatre in downtown Phoenix has once again been renamed.

The venue at Fourth Avenue and Washington Street is now called Arizona Financial Theatre to better reflect the naming sponsor’s expansion of services across state.

Arizona Federal Credit Union members in April 2021 voted to switching the financial institution from a federally chartered credit union to a state-chartered one, thus changing its name to Arizona Financial Credit Union.

“This theatre is home to so many amazing memories for Arizonans, from seeing a favorite band to even graduating college, it’s hosted a variety of joyous occasions and we are so excited to continue to have a part in that magic,” Ronald L. Westad, president and CEO of Arizona Financial Credit Union, said in a press release.

“This small change in name marks a huge milestone for our institution as we continue to expand our financial support to the entire state of Arizona.”

The change marks the third for the arena since opening in 2002.

It debuted as Dodge Theatre and kept the name until 2010 when it was renamed Comerica Theatre.

The venue became Arizona Federal Theatre in 2019.

Arizona Financial Theatre seats 5,000 people and welcomes over 275,000 fans per year.
