Goodyear police search for suspects in shooting death of 19-year-old man

PHOENIX — Police are in the early stages of a homicide investigation after a 19-year-old man died from a gunshot wound at a party in Goodyear in May.

Officers responded to the area of Litchfield Road and Santa Cruz Drive around 12:56 a.m. on May 14 about shots fired near the location, the Goodyear Police Department said in a press release.

When they arrived, they found Mohamed Salim Abdullah with gunshot wounds, police said.

He was taken to a local hospital where he died.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Goodyear Police Department at 623-932-1220 or Silent Witness at 480-948-6377 to remain anonymous.

No other information was immediately available.
