PHOENIX – For the second time in less than a week, a Powerball ticket purchased at a Valley gas station hit for $50,000.

The latest winner was sold at the QuikTrip at 67th Avenue and McDowell Road in Phoenix.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the red Powerball on Monday night, when the numbers were 3, 44, 61, 63 and 69 with a Powerball of 13.

In the drawing five days earlier, a ticket purchased at the Safeway fuel station on Happy Valley Road near 39th Avenue also won a $50,000 payout.

The odds of winning $50,000 in Powerball — a multi-state lottery game with drawings every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday — are 1 in 913,129.

Tickets, which cost $2 per entry, are sold at more than 3,000 Arizona Lottery retailers.

The top prize grows with each drawing until somebody matches all five numbers and the Powerball.

An anonymous Gilbert couple was the last jackpot winner, hitting big in the April 27 drawing. They chose the lump sum of $283.3 million rather than take the full amount of $473 million in a 30-year annuity.

The jackpot is up to $312 million for the next drawing, on Wednesday night. The odds for winning the top prize are 1 in 292,201,338.
