The Independence Day holiday weekend is the slowest time of the summer for blood donations. Please donate at Vitalant’s Saving Arizona Blood Drive on Saturday, July 2, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gila River Arena, or Sunday, July 3, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tempe Center for the Arts. A lucky donor will be drawn as one of the 10 finalists for a 2022 Volkswagen Taos. All blood types are needed, especially Type-O, the universal donor.
