1 injured in unintentional shooting after kids find gun in Phoenix apartment

PHOENIX – A child is expected to survive after an accidental shooting in a Phoenix apartment Thursday night, authorities said.
The Phoenix Police Department said two school-aged children found a firearm inside their apartment near Seventh and Southern avenues. One of them picked up the weapon and unintentionally shot the other, police said.
Emergency crews arrived to find the child awake and responsive with injuries that weren’t life-threatening.
The Phoenix Fire Department took the child to the hospital.
