PHOENIX — A company that sells musical instruments and pro audio gear online announced it is opening a fulfillment center in Glendale.
The 350,000-square-foot building at 16801 Glendale Avenue marks Sweetwater’s first distribution center outside of its home in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
“Their investment will enable them to create a better customer experience for their clients and will bring more than 100 jobs to the area,” Mayor Jerry Weiers said in a press release.
Sweetwater said in the release it will begin hiring in August as the fulfillment center is expected to be operational in October. Positions sought include supervisors, pickers, packers and machine operators.
The company sells thousands of products and accessories, such as microphones, speakers, mixers, amplifiers and instruments like drums, guitars band and orchestra equipment.
“Those who live in the western part of the country often have to wait several days for their orders to arrive from our facility in Indiana. This will change that dramatically,” CEO John Hopkins said in the release.
Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer Phil Rich in the release said the company’s partnership with FedEx will allow thousands of packages to reach their destinations on the West Coast within a day or two.
“We are integrating state-of-the-art technology into this facility to ensure that items are shipped quickly, efficiently, and accurately,” Rich said.
