Arizona man arrested after threats to commit mass shootings at high school, police station, theater

PHOENIX — An Arizona man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly threatened to commit mass shootings at a high school, police station and movie theater, authorities said.
Adam Bowen, 19, was taken into custody near his home in Casa Grande as a result of comments made online, according to a press release from the city.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation contacted the Casa Grande Police Department after following up on a tip that Bowen threatened to carry out mass shootings and also made threats against family and friends.
Bowen also praised the shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 elementary school children and two teachers dead, according to the release.
“There is no doubt in my mind this individual was intent on hurting people and ultimately would have found a way to do it,” Casa Grande Police Chief Mark McCrory said in the release.
“Fortunately, we have great support at the local, state and national level to identify these threats and in this instance these relationships functioned exactly as they should, and we were able to work together to stop a serious threat to our community.”
No weapons were found on Bowen when arrested, but detectives believe he may have had access to firearms.
Bowen faces charges of making a terrorist threat.
He is being held on a $150,000 bond at the Pinal County Detention Center.
