PHOENIX – KP Aviation held a grand opening celebration Thursday at the international aerospace company’s new headquarters in Mesa.
The business, which had been based in Reno, Nevada, set up shop in the Mesa Gateway District on Ray Road, just north of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
“The Gateway Airport area is an excellent location for aerospace facilities and KP Aviation is an exciting and timely addition that will help meet the needs of the industry,” Mesa Mayor John Giles said in a press release.
The new building is about 93,000 square feet, twice as big as the old Reno facility, and has an additional 15,000 square feet of outdoor storage space.
“When we looked across the country for KP Aviation’s new headquarters, Arizona quickly became the front-runner,” Kim Schulze, KP Aviation’s co-founder and CEO, said in the release.
“On top of being a major international aviation hub with pro-business regulations, the southeast Valley is ranked amongst the best places to live, retire and attend public school in America.”
KP Aviation, which has employees in the United Kingdom, Spain and South Africa, plans to increase its Mesa workforce as the business expands.
The company provides a variety of aerospace industry products and services. It was founded in 2001 and now works with multiple industry leaders, including Boeing, UPS, DHL, American Airlines and Air Canada.
