PHOENIX — Multiple Interstate 10 closures, including near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, will hinder drivers on Valley freeways this weekend.

West of downtown Phoenix, westbound I-10 will be closed between the Interstate 17 Stack interchange and 43rd Avenue from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a pavement improvement project, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.

Also closed for the project are both I-17 ramps to westbound I-10 at the Stack, westbound I-10 on-ramps at Seventh Street and Seventh Avenue, as well as the Fifth Street HOV ramp.

Near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, the Broadway Curve Improvement Project will close eastbound I-10 between the State Route 51 Mini-Stack interchange and the State Route 143 Hohokam Expressway from 10 p.m. Friday to around 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

Also closed are all eastbound I-10 on-ramps between Third Street and Broadway Road, ramps from southbound State Route 51, Loop 202 westbound and State Route 143 southbound to eastbound I-10, southbound I-17 on-ramps at Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street, as well as the southbound I-17 ramp to eastbound I-10.

The project will also narrow westbound I-10 to two lanes between State Route 143 and 24th Street during the time of the project.

The westbound lanes of the highway will then close from approximately 11:59 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday between the State Route 143 Hohokam Expressway and the I-17 Split interchange.

Westbound I-10 on-ramps between Elliot Road and I-17, the westbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at Mill Avenue and the westbound U.S. 60 HOV ramp to westbound I-10 are also all set to be closed.

In north Phoenix, westbound Greenway Road will be closed for several weeks near I-17 starting at 9 p.m. on Friday for roadway reconstruction as part of a regional drainage system project, ADOT said.

Drivers should also expect closures of I-17 on- and off-ramps at Greenway Road. Eastbound Greenway Road will also be closed near I-17 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.
