PHOENIX – A suspect in the violent death of a man in a Phoenix parking lot was arrested this week without incident, authorities said.
Amani Kheirollah, 27, was booked Tuesday on one count of second-degree murder, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
He also was booked on one count each of drug offenses and violating probation.
Kheirollah is accused of shooting John Kearns, 56, then running over him at a strip mall near 51st Avenue and Indian School Road on Sunday.
Police said witnesses to the 3:15 p.m. attack told them enough to help investigators develop probable cause to take Kheirollah into custody.
Kearns was taken to a hospital, where he died.
No other details were made available.
