Arizona AG: Man indicted on 8 charges after drug seizure

PHOENIX — A man suspected of trafficking illegal drugs has been indicted on eight charges, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office said Tuesday.
Among the charges Jose Luis Montoya Miranda faces include possession of multiple narcotic drugs for sale, conspiracy, illegally conducting an enterprise and misconduct involving weapons, according to a press release.
Miranda was arrested last month on suspicion of trafficking illegal drugs and authorities allegedly located 140,000 fentanyl pills, more than 11 pounds of fentanyl powder, 2.11 pounds of heroin, 2.9 pounds of methamphetamine and a handgun.
Investigation of the case was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to the release, while the prosecution is being handled by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
