PHOENIX – Two swimmers went missing at Phoenix-area lakes over the Memorial Day weekend, and searchers have recovered one body as of Monday, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.

It was the sixth weekend in a row the agency responded to a missing swimmer call at Lake Pleasant in Peoria.

The swimmer, a man who wasn’t wearing a life vest, went into the lake around 11 a.m. on Saturday, but didn’t resurface, authorities said.

The search for him continues, they said.

A dive team found the body of a man who went missing in Saguaro Lake on Monday afternoon. Witnesses told deputies who arrived around 5 p.m. the man had gone swimming but hadn’t resurfaced.

No other information was made public on either water incident.
