1 dead, 5 injured after house party shooting in Phoenix

PHOENIX — One person died and five others were injured after a shooting at a house party in west Phoenix on Sunday, authorities said.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired around 3:30 a.m. near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road and were informed about a shooting that took place after a party, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
Luis Torres, 18, was taken to a local hospital where he died of his injuries, police said.
During the investigation, officers learned five others, between the ages of 16 and 18, sustained gunshot wounds. The conditions of the injured weren’t available at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
