Arizona man sentenced to 5 years for selling fentanyl

PHOENIX — An Arizona man was sentenced to five years in prison last week for his role in a drug trafficking organization, authorities said.

Jose Dioicio Buelna pleaded guilty to one count of possessing fentanyl and was sentenced on May 17, the Arizona Attorney Generals Office said in a press release. 

He’d been indicted on Jan. 3 on counts of fentanyl possession, conspiracy and illegally conducting an enterprise.

Gilbert police arrested Buelna on Dec. 21, 2021, after he was seen arriving at a drug transaction with 5 kilograms of fentanyl powder, the release said.
