PHOENIX — A Texas man pleaded guilty to performing lewd behavior on a flight to Phoenix last month, authorities said Tuesday.

Antonio Sherrodd McGarity, 34, of Arlington, exposed himself April 2 while other passengers sat next to him on a Southwest flight from Seattle, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.

McGarity also masturbated several times during the flight, according to the release.

The passenger sitting next to McGarity reported the incident to a flight attendant.

McGarity, who has prior convictions for lewd and lascivious conduct, was arrested after the flight landed.

He was sentenced to 48 days in prison, one year of probation and is prohibited from flying domestically until his probation is complete.

The Phoenix Police Department and FBI conducted the investigation.
