PHOENIX – Boutique java shop Black Rock Coffee Bar will celebrate the opening of a fifth Mesa location Friday by giving away drinks all day.

The 2,000-square-foot coffee shop at Ellsworth and Ray roads will offer free 16-ounce drinks from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m., the Oregon-based company announced on social media.

Other specials will follow over the next days, including two-for-one drinks on Saturday and free mugs to the first 200 customers Monday.

It’s the 27th Black Rock Coffee Bar in Arizona and 24th in the Valley. Three shops are in Tucson.

“We are building a strong presence within the Mesa community, and this new location will deepen our customer relationships and extend our reach as we strive to be the coffee and caffeine provider of choice in Arizona,” CEO Josh Pike said in a press release.

The coffee purveyors also serve up energy drinks, smoothies and teas and describe their shops as “a place for connection.”

We want to hear from you.
