PHOENIX — Authorities were looking for a suspect who allegedly backed into a patrol car while fleeing in the West Valley on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at a QuikTrip gas station near the intersection of Olive Avenue and Agua Fria Ranch Road, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.

A deputy with the sheriff’s office activated his lights behind a parked car with a suspected stolen license plate, authorities said.

While the deputy waited for additional units to come, the driver of the car allegedly rammed a car in front of him and reversed into the deputy’s car before taking off, authorities said.

The deputy was not injured.

The car was found a short distance away but the suspect had fled, authorities said.

Anyone with information is asked to please call the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office at (602) 876-1011.

No additional information was available.

We want to hear from you.
