Russian-built jet’s vertical climb will astound

Fast and upright could describe a sprinter during a race. Or it could describe a jet in the air.
Seriously.
A Russian-built MiG-29 was filmed taking off and shortly thereafter flying straight up like a rocket.
It’s been achieved before — there are videos, some of them almost a handful of years old of other MiG-29s in the air purposefully in the upright position.
Boeing posted a video of a 787-9 Dreamliner pulling off a similar stunt for June’s Paris Air Show. Mind you, that is a passenger plane.
It could be argued they are all performing a stall and not actually flying.
It is still spectacular. Most of us can’t even hang a satellite dish on the roof without thinking we’re in danger.
