The little things can go a long way, especially for someone who has been dealt a frightening and entirely unfair hand.
In the case of six-year-old Avery Huffman, this little thing turned out to be a pretty big deal.
After being diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (commonly known as DIPG) a little over three weeks ago, Avery has endured frequent trips to the doctor’s office, multiple sessions of chemotherapy and all manner of worry and confusion in her courageous fight against a cancer that ruthlessly strikes with a 100 percent mortality rate.
Yet, despite all that, Avery has maintained a strength and positive attitude rarely seen in your everyday person, let alone a child so young and precious.
Her bravery and determination has inspired a tremendous outpouring of support from everyone from UCLA head football coach Jim Mora to actress Kristen Bell.
In fact, Avery’s fight inspired Bell — who voiced the character of “Anna” in the Disney animated film Frozen — to leave a special voice message in the video above offering well wishes and support for Avery.
