PHOENIX — Phoenix police on Tuesday announced the arrest of a man who is suspected of strangling a woman to death on a bus, authorities said.

Joshua Bagley, 26, was taken into custody near 27th Avenue and Indian School Road after officers were called to the area about a suspicious person allegedly matching his description, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.

Bagley is accused of strangling 41-year-old Diane Craig on Friday around 8 a.m. near 27th Avenue and Baseline Road, authorities said.

Craig was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries, authorities said.

Detectives identified Bagley as the suspect throughout the course of the investigation, authorities said.

“The Phoenix Police Department wishes to thank the community for their support and assistance in apprehending the suspect in this case,” the department said in the release.
