PHOENIX — A real estate company completed the purchase of 140 acres of land near Luke Air Force Base for a new industrial project called Luke Field.
LPC Desert West, a branch of the Dallas-based company Lincoln Property, completed the land acquisition for $53 million.
The company is planning to erect three buildings totaling 2.3 million square feet. Among the three, the largest building will total 1.26 million square feet and be flanked by spaces totaling 604,000 and 416,00 square feet.
The plot of land is positioned near the corner of Northern Avenue and Litchfield Road just across the street from the end of the Luke Air Force Base runway.
Buildings at Luke Field will include 40-feet high walls, steel frame bracing, automated dock doors and 5-feet by 10-feet clerestory windows to provide sky views and natural light.
Construction is expected to begin in late 2022 and finish at the beginning of 2024.
A 12.5 mile stretch of roadway designed to accommodate high-capacity vehicles, the Northern Parkway, sits just to the north of the proposed building site.
The road connects to Loop 303 and provides an alternative option for commercial vehicles congruent to Interstate 10.
LPC Desert West is the same company that was awarded the Park303 project just three miles away from the site of Luke Field on the west side of the air force base.
