PHOENIX — Drivers will have to detour around Interstate 10 closures in the East and West Valley this weekend.

In the East Valley, westbound I-10 is set to be closed from the Loop 202 Santan/South Mountain interchange to the U.S. 60 Superstition Freeway from 10 p.m. Friday to noon Sunday for work on the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

All Loop 202 ramps to westbound I-10 and the westbound I-10 on-ramp at Wild Horse Pass Boulevard are also scheduled to be closed at that time.

In addition, eastbound I-10 from U.S. 60 down to the Loop 202 was expected to be closed from 8 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Those plans were postponed because of a closure on the U.S. 60 on Saturday morning due to a water main break.

The eastbound I-10 HOV ramp to eastbound U.S. 60, the westbound U.S. 60 ramp to eastbound I-10 and the eastbound I-10 on-ramp at Broadway Road were also expected to be closed at that time.

Drivers should also be aware of the eastbound lanes of the highway being narrowed to two lanes between U.S. 60 and Guadalupe Road from 3:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and Guadalupe Road being closed in both directions near I-10 from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

In the West Valley, eastbound I-10 will be closed between Avondale Boulevard and the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday for work as part of a pavement improvement project.

The project will also close eastbound I-10 on-ramps at Fairway Drive and Dysart Road.

The westbound lanes of the highway will then close between 75th Avenue and the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway from 9 p.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

The northbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway ramp to westbound I-10 and the westbound I-10 on-ramp at 67th Avenue will both be closed during that time as well.
