PHOENIX — Interstate 10 was closed in both directions at Seventh Avenue Wednesday night due to a large fire, authorities said.

The Phoenix Fire Department said the blaze, which broke out around 9:30 p.m., was due to railroad ties catching fire.

Eastbound traffic was being diverted to Interstate 17 and westbound traffic was required to exit at Seventh Avenue, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

The ramp reopened by 11:30 p.m.
